Summer isn’t over yet! There is countless beauty in Colorado that can been seen in a day trip or a weekend getaway. Here are some of our favorite waterfalls and hot springs:
Ouzel Falls: To reach the trailhead from Estes Park, drive 12.6 miles south on Colorado Highway 7 to the Wild Basin Road junction and turn right. After driving 0.4 miles, make another right turn into the park. The Wild Basin Trailhead is located roughly 2.2 miles from the park turn-off on a narrow, two-wheel drive gravel road.
North Clear Creek Falls: From the town of Creede, Colorado travel West on State Highway 149 for 26 miles. Turn right and go southeast for 1/2 mile to the Overlook.
Seven Falls: 2850 S. Cheyenne Canyon Road Colorado Springs, Colorado 80906. Seven Falls reopened this summer. Bask in the majesty of Seven Falls, a magnificent series of waterfalls located in a 1,400-foot-wall box canyon, and then explore everything else the new Seven Falls has to offer.
Conundrum Hot Springs: This undeveloped but popular hot springs pool can only be reached via a rigorous eight-and-a-half-mile trail that begins near Aspen. The raw beauty of the mountainous setting, the 102-degree water and the quiet seclusion of the area make it one of Colorado’s most unique adventures.
Penny Hot Springs: The Penny Hot Springs sit on the banks of the Crystal river, a short drive south from Carbondale. Sitting at the mouth of the Narrows, a granite section of the canyon cut by the Crystal River, they are easily found at a large parking lot on the east side of Highway 133, a few hundred feet north of mile marker 55. The springs are named for Dan Penny who kept a small hotel on the railroad line upstream of Avalanche Creek.
Strawberry Hot Springs: Just outside of Steamboat Springs nestled alongside Hot Springs Creek lies one of the most spectacular mineral springs in the world.
